Grant I decided to move this to the open forum so everybody can get the info. The problem was caused by a damaged turbine when we recieved the 201, it was inside of a 53 inch AB pipe and we did not take the time to check it out properly! BAD MISTAKE!! Go to You-tube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7jwiUfJx9clook around 38 seconds and you will see a white hot blade exiting the rear and the truck could not produce enough power to move. Even the announcer states how HOT the tail section was. We loaded the truck up and came back to the shop, started it up and went WOT. It destroyed the complete turbine and shield. There is a straight line of burn marks in the cieling insulation of my shop where the turbine fins came through the GAPING hole of the shield. We installed a "0" Time engine and everything is perfect. I use a 24 vdc 6hp winch motor with a large hydraulic pump to run the AB through a dual circuit solenoid. Instant 3500psi and 17 gal a minute delivery. Makes a 75 foot flame roll. Look a the other videos, they are all test passes except the Atlanta PASS TIMES show for ESPN. If you need any info on the 201/522 series I have plenty of parts and expeience. Ernie

You just have to RUN farther and faster because of the bigger pices coming at you.. The Rolls 201 at not that enpensive around $5000 USD and usually have low hours. Easy to start and play with, Since the hot section blew on the original engine, we have just added fuel and differant lites.
Easy to mount, foot control for the throttle and hand control on the AB.

hello Ernie! I didnt mean to put you down by saying that it gets more expensive, everything is relative here in life, i understand that 5000$ for a viper is qite OK cost and well spent money, what i meant was that for me as a DIYer the costs of a real aircraft turbojet engine and its spare parts are qite severe costs BUT then again......you have PLENTY more thrust, power, fire, smoke and show.....nothing beat that ofcourse. hell....yes i want to own a small real aircraft turbojet engine myself but right now i want to row my small boat to harbour..in other words....finish that TV61 project that i have standing. then maybe...one day in the future if and when i get lucky enough to get my fingers on a real turbojet engine

I started out with a pulse jet.... then apu .... then DIY (I own Eric Shadells 3 engine Toyota MR2)... then small J 69 in S-10 truck.... Then Rolls 201C (replace 69) ...now J-34's in the Hearse....
Once you get started with turbines you are HOOKED!!

It keeps US away from them so THEY can have quiet time...
My wife gave up after 10 years running a NITRO FUNNY CAR. She said "go and leave me a lone "! Just gives me more time playing..
