Can anyone help me find a magnetic hall effect sensor. I need a way to sense the rpm of my turbine, I have a display that takes an optical input or a pulse input from a hall effect sensor. the optical input cannot be used as the only place that i could fit it is somewhere that an oil mist would corrupt the beam, so that leaves the hall effect sensor. Now the problem is I only have a small space to fit it. I looked at a unit for an rc turbine, but I dont think it would be robust enough for the environment. I have been looking at units designed for industrial use. These are mounted in a steel threaded package that would be ideal for my purposes but they are too big either M8 or M12. Has anyone come across a unit in a M6 package that is no more than 50mm in length

the first question is what feature are you trying to get a "tone" off of?
or are you looking to add a magnet somewhere?

Hi, I want to mount a magnet on the main accessory drive shaft, and fit the sensor in the gearbox take off casting. Attachments:

you will probably have to take a regular bolt and through drill and countersink the one end for the sensor, but I will see how small of a device I can find
