hello everyone!
i have a simple question for the experiensed guys here! i am building my project on and off and now i am working on the combustor liner and casing, i opted for a length of 35cm or 350mm, my question now is: that length should that be without the turbineinlet duct? OR can i include the total length with the turbineinlet duct?
i mean to include the primary, secondary and dilution holes together with the turbine inlet duct within those 35cm cheers/stephan

Hi Stephan
350mm will be more than long enough :-)

hello John!
im not sure if you understood what i meant with that question?
what i was asking was if the total length of 350mm with the primary holes, secondary holes and the dilution holes of the combustor liner together with the turbine inlet duct would be sufficiant??
or should the combustor liner itself with the primary holes, secondary holes and the dilution holes be of that 350mm length without the turbine inlet duct which makes about an additional length of maybe 100mm(possibly a tad shorter) hope you understood what i meant! cheers/stephan

Hi Stephan
yes , 350mm with the inlet duct to the turbine , 250mm of main flametube at full flametube diameter and 100mm of "funnel" :-)
Cheers John

Hello John and anyone else who might be able to answer. What happens if you have the double length say 700 mm Long combustor instead of jetspecs 456mm and diameter 8" combustor casing and 5" flametube ,whould it behave like a skinny combustor Engine?

Hi Stephan
As long as the flametubes crossectional area is 3 times inducer area the engine should be able to work , extra length of flametube is pretty much irrelevant as long as you have the Jetspecs minimum
Cheers John
