I used one as a scavenge pump for a DIYGT and it worked just fine with 5W40. Seemed to be decently made. I know a couple of people using them and haven't heard anything bad. Mine is branded but all the ones on eBay look like they come from the same source I do know there are two types, one has bigger gears so I guess better specs.
