Hello guys, While still working on my Gazelle I saw an offer for a Ru19A-300 engine. To say it with a widely know quote: "One dose not simply ignore an engine offer"The engine looks quite okay on the pictures and there are just some minor parts missing. But when I saw the picture of the exhaust section I spotted something suspicious. A brown ares at the bottom half around the static vanes (see picture below). The owner don't know what it could be but ensured he'll have a look at it tomorrow. What do you think?

I know this guy, I even met him once and saw his Caddy-Jet.
Maybe I'll build a similar thing if I get the engine mentioned above but the brown thing still makes me think about getting it. It shouldn't be a big deal and maybe lower the price a little but I don't want to replace all the blades behind there.

Looking at the fins.. I do not see any distortion on the edges.. Any idea on the hours or what it was in? Is that a stain from a aborted startup?

Okay, it's a coloral change due to the camera. The owner said that the blades are all the same. I'll try to get it then. Thanks for the help, I'll keep you up to date. Also with the Gazelle

Oooh, that's an engine I've wanted to get hold of for a while. Looks in great nick too.
1789 pounds of thrust in under a quarter of a ton, quite impressive for its age!
I'm glad that weird 'stain' turned out to be a camera artifact. For sure I've never seen anything like it in real life.
