Hi Anders 2.5 bar at 66K is just about spot on what the comp map gives, you'll probably have a bit more pressure vs rpm due to the colder air temps and certainly some extra mass flow , all looking good , 66,000 gives a bit of a buffer for safety during this first run . You must be getting excited about giving her a good handful of throttle .................just hang on tight for the ride :-) Cheers John With an 0°C outside temp, how much will I have to lower the P2 to keep the revs at 66.000rpm if I got 2.5bar P2 at 10°C? I am getting very excited actually, the bike is performing well and the weather conditions are looking promising so the 200km/h top speed goal is within reach I think. I can't wait for the runs... Jealous ! At least your sticker is along for the ride.

Hi Anders
Your 66,000 rpm Pressure ratio at 0 deg C will be what you'd get at ~67,800 rpm if at 15 deg C, maybe another 0.15-0.2 bar , so maybe a max P2 of closer to 2.7 bar instead of 2.5 :-)
Cheers John

Today I got the final modifications done on the bike and have started packing for Speed Weekend, lots and lots of stuff! I fitted a green LED light to the dashboard that is connected to the fuel pump so it lights up when the fuel pump has power. That way I can clearly see if there is power to the pump during the start, if any of the Hobbs pressure switches are deactivated the pump won´t get any power and without the LED it is very difficult to tell. About then I remembered my old bike stand I bought for my Hayabusa, after making a steel rod that fits inside the rear wheel axle I could use it on the turbine bike as well! Since the throttle potentiometer was very exposed for water thrown from the front wheel I made a shield for it in aluminum, I don´t want to box it in since that would only increase the risk of water damage. I also made a set of transport lids for the air intake and exhaust pipes so I won´t fill the engine with snow and dirt while hauling it on the trailer to Speed Weekend. Tomorrow and on sunday we will try to get the twinturbo jet kick up and running, Olov has worked hard on it and it is 99% ready for a test run now. Keep your fingers crossed! Cheers! /Anders

There is actually a build thread here at JATO for the twinturbo kick, I found it on page 3 so I upped it to the first page with a picture.
He isn´t very interested in posting pics and writing about what he do but I´ll see if I can manage to get some video footage from this weekends test runs.

Thanks guys! Havent slept much tonight, too much on my mind I guess. Last night we built the camp, ran the big pulsejet so the windows rattled in the whole service building and drank beer (I skipped that part). Will keep you guys updated, I hope for an early run today when the track is best. Cheers!
