Glad you took the shop picture..... Put it on the wall so you will be able to located where the corners of the shop are.
After about 10 minutes of workin my shop, it looks like a explosion in a scrap yard.

I can tell you, Ernie is right! Ernie has twelve of each tool. Like twelve 1/2 inch wrenches on a hook on a pegboard. All twelve wrenches will disappear like some fucking demented magician was helping out about an hour into a project and will not reappear until you buy number 13 or give up. It's like a black hole in time/space

More things done on the frame jig, I made adjustable feets for the jig so I won´t have to use old porno mags and ice cream sticks to get it to the right height. I also made some spacers for the triple tree so it could be lowered on the forks (the forks have a waist on them so a 2mm thick spacer was needed) Making the spacers. The first spacer is in place and doing its job. Here is the result, a several inches lower front end. Before I called it an evening I modified the fairing a bit so it would allow the wide GSXR750 front end and hung it in place, this is roughly how it will be placed. The front fender will be swithed later to one that covers a larger part of the wheel, you don´t want any exposed part of the wheel rotating against the wind since it produce lots of drag. Cheers!

A couple of hours more spent on the jig, the lower frame tube mounts are finished now. Cheers!

The shop is already getting crowded. Jack stands are creeping onto the work space.. 1 question....Which was sticker, the old porn or the ice cream sticks?

It is so fun to build things from scratch, more room for imaginative solutions that way. One thing that has occured to me is that I will have to make the transition between the radial and axial turbines rather short if the engine is to fit in the frame, the gearbox and angle gear will require a couple of dm´s of space and the place for the engine in the frame is not overly large. Do you have any idea what kind of angle can I steer the gasses to after the radial turbine before it would cause too much restriction to the flow?

i imagine it is more a function of bending radius than actual degrees of turn

Hi Anders
You should be able to transition from the radial turb exducer to the axial NGV inlet within maybe 150mm without too many losses from sharp bends in the ducting , the Rover 2S/140 turbine car engine did it in about that axial length , it might pay to see if you can find a good cutaway drawing of that engine :-)
Cheers John

I made a dust cover for the upper steer bearing today. After that I made a mockup with the engine in the frame and the power turbine and gearbox behind it, the distance between the two turbine wheels is 17cm at the moment. I must try to find out what kind of angle gear the jet bike guy here use since I have to get it before I do any more work on the frame. A pic of the front, it will be one compact bike. Cheers!

Nice! Looks like its coming together nicely How do you plan to vent the exhaust gasses? A port on each side?
