She sure has, and no. 2 is on the way so in a couple of years I will have plenty of company in the workshop. Yesterday night I cut the vapour tubes to lenght and welded them to the NGV. Welded. A closeup of the welds. Here is the combustor and the fuel manifolds fitted to the NGV, every bolt is fitted with Nord-Lock washers which are perfect for this application since they are 100% steel and won´t ever come loose unless I want them to. The turbine shaft and compressor wheel in place, I need to get some bolts to fit the air deflectors with before I can assemble the engine any further. Cheers!

Wow...that video was very informative. That is nice to know, especially when dealing with turbine temps (thread lock won't work).

Two of my friends actually work at the Nordlock factory 70km´s from where I live, the company is growing fast since the world industry is becoming more and more aware of the benefits of their products.
This is starting to sound like I am one of their salesmen or something, but I am only impressed by how well the washers work.

Sounds like we could use them here as well. James

I did a search on Ebay and there is no shortage of nordlock-washers, one top seller was american so you won´t even have to pay over-seas postage.
