Yup, rest assured that I am eager to pump some kero into her now! Unfortunately it will take a year or so before the bike is ready to be fired up, I want to finish everything with the controls, tanks etc first so I can take it for a ride and see if the power turbine section seems to work. Cheers! /Anders

Hi Anders
With such a beautiful power plant sitting there , it'll inspire you to finish the more mundane bits :-)
Cheers John

It sure does, next up is to make the mounting plate for the gearbox. Once it is firmly bolted in place I can weld the inter-turbine cones in place and coat the whole piece with cheramics. Then I can continue building the rear end of the frame, things are looking very promising for attending next years Speed Weekend with the turbine bike!

Hi jayacod2! (What´s your real name by the way? Please write a summary in the New Member area so we know who you are.)
For the power turbine I use regular ball bearings for now, for the gas producer I use the standard brass bearings that came with the Garrett TV94 rotary assembly.
Cheers! /Anders

But now there has been some! I figured out how to make the gearbox mounts last night after a couple of napkin drawings, there will be two separate "feets" made that is fitted to the gearbox with two bolts each and clamps around the lower frame tubes using a separate block of aluminum that is fitted from the underside of the frame. Just like the front engine mount was made if you remember. To be able to allign the power turbine with the gas producer I welded the inner deflector cone to the power turbine housing so the tip can be centred with the dub hole in the TV94 turbine wheel hub. It is not exactly critical that everything lines up within 0.1mm or so but it looks better if the two parts of the engine sit in line and not at different heights. A friend donated a nice large chunk of aluminum that I will use for this, I will cut the pieces I need out of it on the table circular saw and mill the parts out of them. Finally some heavy milling again, I sort of miss finding aluminum chips in my beard days after a workshop pass. Cheers! /Anders

hello Anders! were will you lead out the exhaust gasses from the power turbine?, will it just blow over the gearbox assembly?...it looks very difficult to make a exhaust duct from there and out because of the tight fit and gearbox assembly! cheers/stephan
