I am building a new miniquad now with 4 Wren 160's each with 35lbs 16kg and one afterburner for the hole set. My first one was full power, but this is two times as mutch. Attachments:

That will be an interesting quad! Must cost a bit with four Wren engines though...

Ok.. let me get this right.. 4 motors and one afterburner... kinda like a Walter 501 with straight burner cans!
I believe that combo should make extra thrust by combining the assemblies. Better run some figures on the A/B size needed, compressor stall is really easy on those engines.

Hi Anders
About the same output as your engine, but at 4 times the cost :-))
Mmmm I think I'd be looking at a much better chassis to mount them in , 140 lbs of thrust dry say near 200 lbs with A/B , gunna be a bit hairy to drive from the look of it
Nice engines those Wrens ................but expensive if the A/B isn't just right as Ernie said , and something goes wrong :-(
All the best with the build Fiatad5 , looking forward to seeing more :-)
Cheers John

Looks nice n shiny! Love the configuration of engines. I would agree with racket on improving the chassis's structural integrity. I do, however, like the width of the track/wheelbase and how most of the weight sits low on the vehicle's center of gravity. I will be very interested to see more

Really cool build! I canĀ“t wait to see the afterburner work, a single afterburner for those engines will look sweet. Almost like an old Whittle turbine with the engines representing the can annular combustors. What are you going to use the quad for when it is ready, dragracing, show or just to scare the neighbours? ;D
