Hi John, LOL you will need some R&R after your testing. Was there any reason to start on kero and not diesel fuel ?. Cheers, Mark..

Hi Mark
You're right there , might go up the coast for a couple of days rest and see my brother in Wauchope and checkout the old town .
I'm not sure what the stuff is that I'm burning , it came out of the oil heater tank when I moved in here nearly 5 years ago , there was ~60 litres of it , this is the last 5 litres , I think its somewhere between kero and diesel by the look and feel of it , the local service station has a kero pump so will be using that in future ...................kero just smells a bit better than diesel , no other reason for using it as diesel would be just as good :-)
Just finished painting the completed jetpipe and nozzle , will give it a cure in the oven tomorrow morning and refit it , total length of jetpipe is ~3.5 inches with another 2 inches of nozzle for an overall 5.5 inches , she's a stumpy one , might take a coupla pics and add to the thread .
Cheers John

Hi John, WOW you can still get kero at the service station where you are, down here i can only get it from bunnings $71.00 for 20 liters or miter 10 about the same price somtimes they have specials $55.00. Yes some pics would be grate John. I got the mill stand finished LOL i ran out of mig wire as i have a few more welds to do. before i give a coat of paint . I'll see Andrew next week see how the bike going and also take the T30 turbocharger there as he knows someone who might give a good price on rebuilding the turbo as i got some estimated prices, one was $1,200 as they replace the whole center housing with a new one. The other mob said about $660.00 and thats using the rebuild kit i have for it. Cheers, Mark..

Hi Mark
LOL, its a cold climate and theres still plenty of people needing "heating" ;-) from kero .
Lotsa bracing on the mill stand , they get the shakes otherwise , I had to box in my stand .
Andrew is very close to getting the starter finished , just a couple of minor hiccups .
$1200 , ...............thats a bit much , even $660 is a bit steep for what is a fairly simple job .
Will gets some pics of the jetpipe once its finished "cookin'"
Cheers John

Such a cute little jetpipe, I figure the overall looks will change a bit once the afterburner is in place...

Hi Andrew
I guess they were a bit horrified that someone would abuse a turbo in this way :-)
Cheers John

I think they were just a bit confused as to why someone would build a jet engine They were also surprised at the results we're getting out of the GT3071R on the car vs the previous 2871R!

Hi Guys
Gave the engine a start this morning with the jetnozzle making it a bit harder to spoolup , but it eventually settled at ~7psi P2 , not much different to when it didn't have the jetnozzle fitted .
I did take video but the battery in the camera gave out after 17 seconds :-( .................just long enough for me to get the starter hose connected .......................and nothin' else .................I'm starting to think I'm never gunna get some video of this thing going .
Took her up to 30psi P2 , a few "stutters" along the way , maybe sucking a bit of air as the fuel tank was getting low with only a couple of inches left in it . ...........................she's noisy :-)
Cheers John
