New to he thread, curious what size turbos you guys are using for karts? And what speeds can you expect with a 220lb rider? I'm not looking for anything crazy. Hoping to make something get up to around 35mph. Any help with this topic would be appreciated.

Hi
Welcome to the Group :-)
If you're going jet powered with afterburner rather than shaft horsepower powered, then you'll be needing a decent sized truck turbo , something with at least a 3" dia comp wheel inducer diameter , the Cummins ST/VT 50 turbo is often used or a Garrett TV81 or bigger maybe .
If you want to go turboshaft powered then the gas producer can be considerably smaller , a 2" inducer .
Have a look though the DIY section for ideas
Speeds from the bigger afterburning karts are now up ~90 mph in the quarter , a turboshaft could be made to do whatever speed the kart could handle ;-)
Cheers John

Then you'll need to find the biggest turbo you can .
