Thanks mate, yeah a lot of people are using kegs make a foundry funace. Yours looks like it has held together well for that time, have you thought about a lifting mechanism for your foundry? Hi,
yes it has survived a really long time now.
Maybe because of the threaded stainless steel rods
I welded in place before I casted the concrete mix isolation.
But Even more important is the drying process, mostly the
initial one but after each longer term it was not in use
I start very very slowly and heat it up empty very carefully.

No I do not plan to add a lifting mechanism for the lid.
However a lifting mechanism to bring the hole foundry outside
Would be nice... Even with that high perlite content it’s
a heavy thing.
