Hello my Friends here I have stumbled over a opportunity to buy a holset HX80 With a t6 single entry inlet to turbine.... But this calculations regards the ratio between comp inducer and the turbine exducer makes me puzzled, Can someone help me? Comp inducer is 89mm and the turbine exducer is 96mm,would this work as a turbojet engine? Cheers /stephan

Yep , it'll work , my TV84 had those dimensions , you probably need a turb scroll A/R of ~1.4 to 1.6

Thanks Mate for your help,i understood that The turbine housing is a size 36 in The holset language, i think it should be fine.....i estimate expected thrust in The 50kg+ range OR is that overly optimistic? Cheers stephan

50 kgs is possible , though you probably will need to be forcing the turbo pretty hard .
36 is 36 sq centimetres , which is ~5.6 sq inches , if the centre of the scroll nozzle is at 4 inches radius from the shaft centre as with my TV84 ( 110 mm turb inducer) , then the A/R would be 1.4 , sounds good to me .
I used a 76mm dia jet nozzle

Thanks John for your help, really appreciated, i understand that this engine would be able to run With some work on it The good thing With it is that it has a single entry inlet to turbine AND that it dont have a wastegate on the turbine housing and it is a HX80... It is bigger than the HX60W.... Bigger the better!! Cheers stephan
