Could it have happened because of too big turbine housing?, to me it had this flapping noice, like flow disturbance... After a while the oil leaks by and then failure shortly after.
Get another turbo and rebuild, a Nice engine you constructed there

Hi guys i found this info about the T18 family turbos....maybe answer there why it exploded.....it seem to be VERY picky, need Good oil,oil pressure,smooth running,pulsating loads are VERY dangerous it seems and surges and overtemps are forbidden!
Interesting anyway,it is a BIG turbo!!
