Knowing that you can put nitrous oxide or oxygen through just about anything and make it burn made me wonder about firewood. I taking an old metal container put some wood in it and injected some oxygen and had the metal container start to melt on me. So what about regular firewood? Or a presto log? There is a lot of logging up in the Eastern Washington northern Idaho area and several companies that make Presto logs. Maybe build some sort of interesting rocket motorcycle or four wheeler?
I watch the episode of few times with Mythbusters in the Confederate hybrid rocket and gets me going each time.
I know that it comes down to energy density and how well fuel is consumed.
What do you think?

It would be interesting to see built, no doubt. I'm not sure how well it would work in all honesty, but make sure you take video

Wood will work as a fuel but my guess is the regression rate will be really low.
It may be possible to improve the regression rate by using a low density wood like balsa. You could potentially saturate the balsa with oil, diesel or even wax for higher energy density and regression rate.

If you were to have a hollow cylindrical presto log, possibly saturated with a hydrocarbon and pass oxygen gas through the centre hole it should combust at least well enough to do something and might produce some thrust if contained like a regular hybrid rocket with a delaval nozzle
