John, I will look tomorrow to see if I can obtain the same motor. Are you going to use it to direct drive the pump with a coupling or chain drive?
Thanks, Ron

Hi Ron
I'm going to direct drive with a coupling that engages the original sprocket teeth at one end and at the other a slot that the oilpump tang fits into .
I tried removing the sprocket , which has a spring pin through it and the shaft , but found that even with the pin removed the sprocket was too tight to easily move , so decided to leave things as they are .
Cheers John

John, I found a simlar motor in the US on eBay made by Currie Technologies. Only difference is that it is rated for 500 watt. I plan to order it tomorrow.
I also looked at a brushless motor. The seem to be twice the cost for the same function. Better for long term use.
Do you have a source for the coupling?

Hi Ron
Yep , they're the same one , I've seen them advertised at up to 750 W with the same part number.
The coupling will be a bespoke part made by me , though we could probably get away with a section of rubber hose clamped over the sprocket and the other end of the hose clamped over the pump shaft for a "flexible coupling" :-)
Cheers John

John, the hose sounds like the low cost solution.
Thanks, Ron

Hi Ron
You might find that the pump gear and motor sprocket are of reasonably similar size , a bit of reinforced hose and a couple of hose clips might do the job nicely
Cheers John

All, note that some members are using the Marco up9 pump for their lubrication systems.
Thanks, Ron
