I think so too Smithy, just rolling the bike out of the workshop was a world of difference compared to this winter when it had the spiked tyres on. Now it practically rolled itself out.

I had my brother as an assistant and managed to weigh the bike just now, after removing the weight of the fuel and oil in the tanks the dry weight of the bike ended up at 186kg. Not bad at all considering the heavy battery and gearbox!

Hi Smithy
Bugger , you win :-)
Thats a very good weight Anders , heh heh , she'll certainly accelerate quite nicely , my old turbine bike weighed ~280 kgs (when Andrew weighed it) and with my 90 kgs onboard that was a hefty 370 kgs allup to accelerate .
Even with the rather "long legged" gearing you have , it'll be an enjoyable ride , much less stressful than your ice run .
Cheers John

If I add the methanol injection and run the gas producer at 70.000rpm the bike shouldn´t be far from a 1:1 power to weight ratio, not bad at all considering that very little effort has been made to reduce weight during the construction.

Don't forget to add fuel, oil and your own weight to the equation.....makes the numbers a tad different. Still an impressive bit of kit though... Love your work and the way you go about it. Cheers, Smithy

So perhaps 275-280kg with my bony arse on the bike in full leathers, still a decent ratio. Thanks Smithy, I appreciate it! I spent a lunch break grinding the steering damper mount into shape, now it looks a bit better. Cheers! /Anders

Would closing the rear wheel opening to a taper make the bike more AERO on the big end. It should help with the low pressure transition and reduce the drag factor?
