Running is probably one of the sports you can keep being good at high up in age, so I hope to stay injury-free and in decent shape for at least 30 more years. Cheers! /Anders You're dreaming ....I was incredibly fit up until I was in my mid-late 30's @87kg....then it all went downhill from there after a back injury...I stopped doing any sport and gained heaps of weight, was ~110kg at one stage, found it hard to do anything strenuous...am now just under 90kg, which I think is ok for 180cm, feel much better, can even see my own feet now Cheers, Smithy. But if it hadn´t been for the back injury I bet you´d still be pulling chinups and running sub-40 10k races all day long, the trick is to keep the body damage away according to the old folks around here.

Pfffttt...me? Run sub 40 for 10k....Bwahahahaha..! Even when I could run I was a sprinter....did run 10.69 for 100m when I was young and stupid..! Was better at tbh... long jump....7.68m..! Now at the ripe old age of 54 I can barely walk fast enough to get out of my own way..! Cheers, Smithy.

I'm still in pretty good shape for 54 yrs old same as smitty , I'm about 98kgs at 6'5", my big problem is I'm missing 2/3rds of my right lung due to a tumor so my mass flow numbers are down a bit These days, when I get the urge to exercise, I lie down till it goes away. Regards, Steve.

Lungs are useful while running I´ve heard, so I think your laying down approach is probably a good idea.

Got a new toy (T27 roadster built on a modified Volvo Duett chassi) in my newly built garage today after a 1500km solo trip to pick it up. My arse is sore after all that driving but it was worth it! Cheers!

While being bored in the car on the way back home I thought about building a small trailer for it so I can tow the Rolls Royce Viper around. That combo has probably never been seen before...

Good one Anders looks like you are getting a nice collection of toys Cheers, Mark. Actually I´ve been getting rid of much stuff just to lose the constant feeling of neglect from not having time to fix/use them, I´ve sold my Triumph Bonneville -67 bobber, motorized kick sled, an old Crescent moped, gocart etc and sort of cooked it all down to the roadster.

So, If you continue cooking down , does that mean the Viper is going into the roadster ?

So, If you continue cooking down , does that mean the Viper is going into the roadster ? I guess that is the only logical next step. Nice ride .... What motor does it have? An old 2 liter inline Volvo four tuned with twin carbs, agressive cam, higher compression and most likely a better flowing head. The seller didn´t know exactly what was done to the engine but it pulls hard and really like the revs. It has a nice growl to it so it is the perfect engine for a lightweight roadster.

I ran the bike an hour ago to adjust the idle for the One Mile race this weekend, the interstage temps are in the 800°C region despite a high idle and a free spinning rear wheel so a bit high for sure.
Can it be the oil pressure stricture (the shaft is difficult to rotate with oil pressure applied) that puts a load on the shaft at low revs? The engine has been like this more or less since I first started it, once I start reving it up the temps drop back to normal.
In a month or two we will know since I will take the engine apart directly after the race and so some modifications to the bearing housing that should cure the stricture.
Cheers! /Anders

Hi Anders
When the oil has had chance to warm a little, does the idle temp come down any and what is the idle oil pressure
All Best
Andy

Hi Anders When the oil has had chance to warm a little, does the idle temp come down any and what is the idle oil pressure All Best Andy Hi Andy, When the oil has warmed up I have 4 kg oil pressure and the temps are still high, actually temps tend to creep upwards during long idle runs. /Anders
