Hi to all, i`m amateur in jet engine build, with basic tools, (grinder, welder, driller) and in my exciting, i build my first jet engine from scratch, but a total FAIL www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W0r4cSosoU Now when i am lucking at that engine, i`m almost ashamed . With more knowledge about jet engines, i`m trying one more time to build a jet engine. But i`m not shore if turbine guide vanes total area, needs to be same as compressor inducer area (not turbo tip) postimg.org/image/5sta7sbj9/ (image from google), as well with combustion chamber hole area, same as compressor inducer area? Thank you and sorry for my bad english.

Hello,
Your first attempt at building a turbine was actually pretty good (better than my first attempt). Like John said buy the Kamps book and the Schreckling book too.

Hi, Here is my very first attempt at building a turbine before I bought the Kamps and Schreckling books. It stood no chance of actually running. I used an impeller from a Echo backpack leaf blower and the turbine was from the power take off of a JFS-100 engine. The impeller diffuser is actually a Honda wheel I cut in half and glued 1/8" plywood diffuser blades. Your first build looks better than this, don't give up trying. Jeff

Here is a better picture, the other picture was too dark. About the only thing I succeeded in, was melting the tips of the turbine off. If you have limited access to machinery needed to make a turbine, seriously consider building a Schreckling turbine. The design is very forgiving of building defects, but you will need to get access to a decent lathe. Jeff

Hello,
If you give me your name and mailing address, I can send you some high temp steel scraps you might be able to use. My basement is a mess with clutter and you'd be doing me a favor,,,lol. I watched both your youtube video's and it seems your out of scrap material.
