I am building my own TurboJet Engine from a Turbocharger. Actually, I have a doubt about the thrust. My Turbocharger has very small hole of Exhaust (3cm) unlike the large exhaust holes of the large turbochargers which generates a lot of thrust so I am worried about the thrust. How much thrust will it generate from such a small exhaust hole? Its intake is also very small. Will it generate a good amount of Thrust? I have already spent a huge amount of money. Please help!!

It'll produce virtually no thrust , very small turbos have poor component efficiencies , if you can produce even a couple of pounds thrust you're doing well

But I have very less budget and I have to fly an RC plane with that. Please help me.

Hi How big is the inlet diameter of the compressor wheel ??. If your turbo is similar to the Garrett GT1241 with a 29mm comp inducer then your max flow will be very small, ~10 lbs/min , the very small jet joe engine www.jetjoe.com/cp_detail.html?pd=pd1 only produces 3.5 lbs of thrust, and its a professionally made engine . As I said in my earlier email , if you can get a couple of pounds thrust you're doing well . Cheers John

It has 4.5 Cm diameter inducer compressor. I have used Tin for making flame tube and combustion chamber. Is using Tin okay? And will it produce a good amount of thrust?

Hi
A 45mm dia inducer CAN"T be used with a 30mm turbine exducer , the compressor will be in surge at all times , the "hole in" needs to be smaller than the "hole out" of the engine.
It won't produce any thrust :-(
Cheers John

Hi
I think you might be mixing up your inducer and exducer sizes , the comp wheel inducer is smaller than the comp wheel exducer .................the turb wheel inducer is bigger than the turb wheel exducer .
What are the dimensions of your wheels ??
Cheers John

As I have my turbo in the workshop, I cant measure the dimensions. I think the inducer and the exducer dimensions are same. I will confirm you when I receive the turbo. But will it produce 20lb thrust if the inducer and the exducer dimensions are same?

20 lbs of thrust is a fair amount and will require more mass flow than what your dimensions indicate .
I need a lot more information on the turbo , Make , Model etc etc

I will tell you the exact dimensions within tomorrow. But I have to fly a 20 kg plane with this engine. Is that possible?

I strongly doubt it
