Hi Smithy a little complicated. perhaps but nothing a few relays and pressure switches can not handle.... but i did expect the clutch would be needed. Its been in there since the start and the fuel control system was sorted when i first put it together..... all to get the power down as quick and safely as possible Saying that........ the tacho unit is taking some working out, you have to program it from two buttons on the front, going back and forth in the menus

Interesting setup there Andy hope it works out. Cheers, Mark. Hi Mark Am hoping so myself :-) i know a clutch on the back of a freepower unit is unusual, but most of what we do is . The return relief is inspired from what some of the street legal drag racers do to help them of the line, and as i will be coming of the line at only a little over 1/3 rd power and dial the rest on down the track ? things i hope will hold together thanks Andy

Hi guys..... work goes on to improve the seal of the shaft into the gear box of the free power unit, i have had to take it apart, this is the reduction gear inside, from what i know of the unit, this gear could be 30 years old if not more. not looking bad i think.... and once its spinning at 1000 rpm i hope a good lot of mass to help me off the line The free power bearing hub and exhaust section, with the jig to hold it centered ready for re welding

Hi Andy
LOL, only a crazy pommy bastard would make such a fantastic machine ............I love it :-)
Interesting handling characteristics I'd imagine , I also enjoyed his backyard testing video , heh heh , and I worry about annoying the neighbours starting my creations .
Wish him all my best
Cheers John

Knowing Paul he's got some very clever electronics on it :-) Am hoping if we have a track meet soon he will bring it along All Best Andy

Hi Andy
Yep , he looked much more comfortable as the flight progressed , it should be reasonably stable having the C of G well below the props , I'd imagine if he had the seating "hung" from the frame so that he could use weight transfer like a hang glider for control it might save some complicated electronics .
I'll be looking forward to hearing more as development progresses :-)
Cheers John
