hi guys..... talk about unsafe youtu.be/InvF9e5kyjoI know i speak for some on this forum and others on the DIY GasTurbine site, safety is very important, we all strive to help others and give safe advice but i just feel this video could end badly, may be not for its author but perhaps some one following his advice if you agree please put comment on his youtube |

This is a good example why I so dislike How-to´s and "Free drawings", it takes most of the actual thinking out of the build and you end up with something that might work but you haven´t got a clue why...

I agree with you too Andy, worst case is someone gets hurt and lawmakers legislate to restrict our hobby / fun.
These guys need to learn that turbo-machinery demands respect.

anyone see those fully automatic machine gun plans that were floating around the web? Maybe this guy made those! plumbing parts and hacksaw blades for springs......
Blades flying around is one thing but has anyone seen a combustor breech under pressure? nice f'n hot fireball!

I hope he has Fire and Liability Insurance .... There was NO statement of "Hold Harmless". A Law Suit looking for a place to happen.

Wasn't too worried up to the point he whipped out a roll of freaking ductape. Still, should be an interesting video, and if he hasn't posted anything come tuesday, well we'll know what happend.

Lots more to worry about.... no good seal between turbo and combustion chamber, no oil system to talk of... need i go on

I didn´t quite understand how he was going to make the oil system, if he want it to run more than 15 seconds he needs a decent oil pump and tank and so ruin the whole cheap-ass approach. No matter what it will be interesting to see how this thing turns out, he has obviously built a working gas turbine for the BBQ so he can´t be totally ignorant to the problems with duct tape in a gas turbine... |

I've used duct tape between the compressor outlet and combustor inlet pipe before with good success  |
