Not only that, should be a significant weight loss as well, but I noticed you had some turnigy lipo batteries already on it, would you be able to use them or would it be too much mucking about to make it all blend?? Hi Marc, You could well be right, would be easy to do too!...some of the new Li-Po batteries can handle huge amp pulls...At home I have a single 8000mah 3 cell 65c Li-Po....that makes it capable of pulling 520amps...!! ...only for a very short period I'd imagine. Since the "Beast" has a fuse block with the largest fuse being just 30amps...I think one of those Li-Po batteries would be...ahem...quite adequate..! Cheers, Smithy.

Hi Smithy LOL............perfectly understandable , its nice when a build gets to such a stage that we're looking to make those minor adjustments :-) Cheers John Hi John, I like making "minor" adjustments....I walk past the "beast" every day and think to myself..."what can I do to it today?".. I have a couple more of those little igniter modules coming, they're tiny and make a huge spark and only need 5v to do it..! Very useful for those of us who run A/B's. Cheers, Smithy.

Yeah, you're not wrong, a mate of mine uses them on his e-bikes and yeah, prior to that I had never seen them before and they are amazing, I even made up an electric drift trike only using two 8ah (I think) and yeah, for their size, retarded discharge power.

I should be able to dig up some spare 15Ah LiFePO4 cells to make a 12v battery I have a couple of 3-cell 9.9v Li-Fe batteries for the little dragster, (nothing like your 15ah though:o).... a 2-cell Li-Po was a bit shy of voltage...they're 7.4v nominal and the glow plug pulled it down a little more than I would like and the starter motor was struggling a tad.... and a 3-cell 11.1v nominal Li-Po was a bit on the high side for the ECU as they're 12.6v on a fresh charge, so a 3-cell 9.9v Li-Fe was just right for the application. Cheers, Smithy.

Hi All, I've been invited to the "MotorEx" car show here in Sydney, Homebush Olympic Park where the 2000 Olympics were held, it's quite a large car show running over two days late next month, 25th & 26th July. Will be taking the little dragster and the "Beast" along for some noise, fire and corruption..My friend Dave with the little jet van has supplied me with plenty of Jet A-1, ~400 Liters, so I should be right for the weekend john....my son is going to give the original nose section and steering wheel fairing a going over with some carbon fiber vinyl wrap, should look pretty cool when done. Hopefully the car show patrons will approve. Have now fitted a second A/B igniter as redundancy, damn they throw a decent spark ...have also adjusted the throttle valve for higher P2, hopefully ~40psi-ish , not had a chance to run it yet though. Just need to clean up the wiring with some shielding to make it look pretty and I'll be right to do plenty of car shows etc... The van is all sorted with ramps and internal winch system....am a happy chappy.. Cheers, Smithy.

Hi Smithy
LOL, you're spoiling that girl dressing her up in fine cloths and taking her to interesting places ..............pics please :-)
400 litres will slake her thirst for a while and give the punters something to remember ......................heh heh , and you too once over the 40psi .
Winch , now thats getting serious , theres been times I wished I had one to drag things onto a trailer .
Just did a Google for the Show , impressive , you'll have fun .
Cheers John

Will definitely take some pics when my son has done the "alterations"..! With the winch, I just fitted a cheap 4000lb item I bought off Ebay...seems to work fine, the two batteries for my van are under the drivers seat and has 3x 60amp fused customer connections at rear of seat base.... so I just drilled some small holes through the bulkhead and connected the winch into one of them.... and all is good. Winch has a wireless controller too so I can steer the kart while it's being pulled up into the van...very special..! MotorEx Car show should be good, not too far from home either..am looking forward to it....the only bad thing is they require all sorts of paperwork, public liability certificate stating the venue and promoter as "interested parties", also an MSDS for the Jet-A1 fuel I'm using, how much of it I will have onsite and where/how it will be stored etc...pain in the ar$e. Cheers, Smithy.

Let me know if you need extra crew for the show You're always welcome of course....Still waiting to see how many spare tickets, (if any), I receive from the organizers, I'll probably have my Missus & Son coming along, plus a couple of other mates....but you're welcome to pop along as usual, can always use a a knowledgeable set of eyes watching in case something is not quite right...! The beast is running very nicely so I don't anticipate any dramas....I'm always ready to shut down just in case. Cheers, Smithy.
