pump works fine.. wired/plumbed up everything last night... tested with water and it shoots it in a straight jet about 12 feet. As soon as I fix one leak, I can bolt it all together and fire it up! Looks beautiful...almost hate to ruin the stainless finish on it jamie

Glad the pump works. We buy them 144 (1 gross) at a time, save the freight and give a good volume discount. It is just stainless, You can polish it back. When you finish with yours I have the A/B on the 34 that is looking dull, you can polish it back! ernie

Got everything bolted together and tested afterburner on straight diesel last night...I get big clouds of smoke, but no light... when I turn the pump off, I do get a light for just a second as the remaining fuel dribbles out of injector...wonder if I am running too much fuel to it?
Thoughts? spark plug back there firing fine.

A needle valve to meter the flow would answer the rich question.

Jamie We have found on our jet kick sled afterburner that we need to keep the engine revs at about 40% and slowly open up the AB fuel flow to get the most reliable ignition, too much engine revs or too much fuel pumped into the AB and it won´t light.

Do you run straight diesel or mix?

Straight diesel, no reason not to.

Here is a pic of the completed afterburner. Built from 16 gauge stainless muffler tip. There is a 1/4" piece of brake line with a nut welded onto the end of it. Into this nut, I can screw in standard carbuerator jets to alter fuel flow.

Pic of the other side. I also ordered a PWM motor controller to help me dial in the afterburner fuel pump to get exact control. Jamie Attachments:

Nice and shiny! You could chop the last straight part of the afterburner off and possibly see a slight thrust increase (very slight) because of less friction loss.

Beat you to it! I actually had to cut it off to open the pipe slightly as I was getting surge at a lower rpm than before and harder starting. Once I opened it up a little, it was ok. The pipe has a nice blue/gold hue to it now as it was glowing Bright red last night jamie

Hi Jamie, You made a comment on my you tube video turbo jet after burner test 2009 , i am unable to make a reply on you tube i tried everything keep getting error try again. I use diesel for my AB now that i can see you AB set up you will need to move the spark plug near the AB flue nozzle as i had the same problem so a Friend of mind move the plug near the AB fuel nozzles and she lights up no problems. If you want i can put some pics up for you just let me know. Cheers, Mark..
