Help with my first attempt please

Hello everyone....My name is Graham and i have a brand new turbo off of a hilux,,,,Im interested in engines and thort to use this turbo to build an engine....Problem is i have no experience with this but i want to do it safely and right the first time....If anyone can give me a few inspirational pointers it would be much appreciated.....The intake of my turbo is 2 and a half inches....Is this what you go by to make the flame tube etc...Thanks for reading this,,,,Graham
