Hello, New to the board and wanted to introduce myself. I've been building hotrods and things that make a lot of noise for a long time. About 4 years ago I found the body from Larry Nagel's "Pocket Rocket". The car ran a hydrogen peroxide rocket engine back in 1981, 82 & 83 and had been as fast as 6.57 @ 248 MPH. When I started the rebuild I didn't know what to power the car with. I wanted to keep it thrust powered so I went with a Home built Turbo Jet. The car has been done four years now and I have been trying to get it running. I haven't done much research on the board yet but I need a correct fuel nozzle and figure out how to spin the turbo fast enough to get it to light. I did try last weekend with no luck and I'm pretty sure these are my issues. The other issue I may have is although the combustion chamber is built to spec I have it laying down to clear the body as opposed to sticking straight up as they are typically run. Any insight before I dig too much would be appreciated but otherwise just wanted to say hello and thank you for the space!
I'm trying to post some pics but not having luck, yet
