Hi Anders
Perhaps a stainless sheet strap with a spring at each end to keep a consistent tension as the A/B expand both radially and axially
Cheers John

Tomorrow we will head down to Årsunda and Speed Weekend with the ice yacht and turbine bike, no racing for us this year but plenty of laughs and giggles and perhaps even a few beers. I´ll try to take a few pics and upload whenever I find the time. Cheers! /Anders

I´ll report in on Monday just how relaxing the weekend was, most likely I´ll be feeling like one of the dead guys in a zombie movie...

After a nervous wait I got the call from the balancing company that the turbofan rotor was balanced and ready for pickup! You can probably guess how glad I was to hear that since it was far from certain that the rotor was even possible to get to balance with its bearing surfaces cut in the lathe and it had been removed and fitted several times in the lathe with all the aligning problems that might cause. Knowing that the rotor runs true is great, now we just have to find some time to work on the ice yacht..... Cheers! /Anders

Hi Anders
Very nice :-)
Do you have some "indexing" for shaft to turb/fan alignment
Cheers John

Hi Anders Very nice :-) Do you have some "indexing" for shaft to turb/fan alignment Cheers John The rotors aren't touched since balancing so I will index everything before taking them apart.

Yep , get the Dremel out and cut some grooves :-)
LOL, I still have trouble aligning my marks , tightening the nut always seems to rotate something :-(
On the freepower stage I did for Andrew I ground off one of the curvic "gears" on the wheel, and the mating part was made with one groove missing so the wheel could only go on in one position

Amazing work Anders and Olov! That's some impressive chassis fabrication and the turbine is superb as usual. I've read most of the build thread for the turbine bike too and I've got a new respect for Swedish engineering!

Thank you! We don't know yet if the turbofan will work as planned but since the fan rotor could be balanced we have high hopes.

Any updates? will you attend Speed Week? Not really, I have sort of finished the fan module and Olov has been gathering parts for the chassis but so far we haven´t been able to find time for any combined efforts in the workshop. No Speed Weekend this year for us, but we will really try to find time for the project so we can at least do a full length run without afterburning next year.
