I was wondering are you gonna make any extensions to exhaust pipes? At higher speeds fumes most likely turn with the wind and might heat up things in the back of the bike.

Okay, I was worried about sharp corners and didn't like the looks.. So I started to create something more traditional:

Blah, what do YOU think of the housing? I'm not sure if it goes to trash can or should I continue with it? Yet it would be easy to change it..

Finally we continued the turbine housing manufacturing.. Had some delay because our machinist was sick, but here's the part2 (should be online soon): vimeo.com/94456913Turbineshaft wasn't quite straight, not even close, noticed just when we put it into a lathe. Few punches with a sledgehammer made it better so it could be turned, then camera run out of battery so I didn't get any good footage. youtu.be/XDUwuYAUVGM

Hi metiz, Thanks, I'll try to improve my skills cause I've got a lot of aluminium works on the way with my car project. Tip clearance seems to be crucial part of succesful welding result

Another great project Anders! Idea is absolutely fantastic, we were thinking the same too, replacing my friend's electric motor with our turbine one.. Would be a slight difference in sound

Yep, revs will be low compared to what it spins normally, absolute maximum of 20,000rpm at topspeed which is about 25% of intact wheel's max rpm.. Also it won't never suffer such temperatures neither. Yesterday I tried welding 3mm aluminium with my cheap chinese TIG, I've only tried a few times AC welding, results: i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281/mice325/IMG_3198_zpse6694758.jpgAluminium fuel tank would be nice :-P
