This is the data i got when i entered my HX82 wheel sizes etc,how do i know that it is 3:1 pressure ratio?...That is obviously my limit for this engine

Hi, there are billet superback wheels (100/152.04mm) 8+8 on ebay for ~ 300€. I know it is a lot of money and it has to be checked if they fit first. Regards. Matthias Hello Mathias, thank you for the tip but superback wheel dont fit my turbo because it is Another turbine shaft(which is a bit longer),oil slinger and compressor back plate but i have a brand new wheel coming in the mail so it Will have a better chance surviving as a turbojet

The afterburner doesn't/shouldn't add any extra load than a normal jet nozzle You're looking at mass flow not pressure with your engine , but it'll still produce some decent thrust :-) Yeahh,it is THAT i am hoping for, ill be VERY happy to reach 50kg in thrust AND then maybe to put on a afterburner....to maybe reach 75kg thrust? I also found a brand New replacement compressor wheel on ebay 100mm inducer/152mm exducer non superback Together with a overhaul kit.

Industrial turbos often have cast iron housings , weight isn't an issue . Also without a superback there more of a chance the comp would fail and require containment Ohhh,great....I purchased a piece of junk Ahh well i have what i have...never going to be a world record engine anyway! Just to build a turbojet engine out of a turbo just because it is possible and fun, then i also guess it is BEST NOT to build a afterburner for it....to NOT stress the engine with that extra load?

Probably 60,000 or a bit less Now i understand why it has such big turbine housing of 41cm because of the low boost,i wonder why the use of a cast iron compressor housing then..hmm Interesting this!!

Yep , without superback you'll need to keep below 3:1 PR 750C should be OK for a TOT at 3:1 At what speed would that be? Around 70000ish or so?

Hi Stephan LOL ..........we all wish it was a bit bigger , Jetspecs assumes modest temps and pressures , if you wish to "extend the envelope " the thrust will improve . Cheers John Yeahh,i understand that if i push it ,it also get more thrust, but how high temp can i go in egt? 750 degrees Celsius? How high boost can i get out of this one? Apparently this turbo has a non superback compressor wheel=non high boost but it has a cast iron compressor housing Interesting!

YES,electricity,a page for itself these days...a real disgrace i Think! Anyway it was a huge happiness to get That jetspecs downloaded. Been looking at that now,my estimated thrust numbers for this engine is around 50kgish....I thought it would be a bit higher

Hello Andy Thank you VERY much, i finally was able to download this program to my PC Interesting thing to play with ,seem VERY Difficult to reach my goal with this engine build which was to give 50+ kg in thrust.. it just about touched 50kgs at around 650 degrees Celsius. Buggerbugger!!!

Hi Stephan Its only recommended the oil pressure pickup is placed there because of uncertainties about pressure drop in the delivery plumbing , but if you use 1/2"- 12mm OD metal tubing you can fit the pressure sensor away from the turbo . As I use manual gauges , a metal tee piece at the turbo oil inlet and metal tubing going from the tee piece to gauge isn't a problem Cheers John Hello John! I also have manual gauges and 1/2" hydraulic equipment, time to do some plumbing!!

Been looking at this with the oiling system...Everyone says to put oil pressure gage by turbo oil inlet....a VERY hot place near the turbine housing..anyone any ideas? Cheers/Stephan
