The JATO staff would like to welcome all new members of the JATO forum. This board was founded to satisfy the need for organization across multiple jet and turbine communities.
I'll take out a moment to introduce myself and encourage others to do the same in a reply.

I'm Richard OConnell, age 23, and my expertise mostly lies in computers and programming. I have been working with Thermaltake, NVidia, and AMD for about 5 years, mostly building computers for show. I have also worked in network and server administration for various local locations. About a year and a half ago I started helping Ernie Wrenn on a few of his jet powered vehicle projects and have been doing it regularly ever since.
Ernie and I came up with the forum idea based around the simple principle of having a nice orgainized way of sharing information on the subject of jet and turbine engines.

Hi Everyone,
Firstly, thanks for setting this up!
I live in Melbourne Australia and my background is in electronics, I'm an Ophthalmic technician: lenses, lasers hydraulics and Electronics.
I, and a group of friends are currently (slowly) building a DIYGasturbine and have been enjoying help from the guys on Yahoo groups.
Hope to gain some further in-site from the "Experts" before we blow ourselves up LOL.
Regards George D

Richard,
Thanks for setting up this board. I am new to the home turbine community and am looking forward to building my first engine. I am in the process of gathering the parts to start the build process and am sure I will be here a bunch for help.

Great idea and good work! This will be much easier to keep up with and contribute to than DIY. I've been busy with a lot of other stuff lately so my project is on the back burner and I haven't been keeping up with the goings on much on the list. Thanks for this..

Hello all,
My name is Mike Veach, and I've been on DIY gas turbines for a while now but only recently have been able to start a project. I'm currently gathering parts for my first turbocharger-based engine, which my Father-In-Law and I are building. If all goes well, we're planning on using it to power a go-kart. I'm also looking into building a smaller KJ-66 or similar engine. My background is also electronics, mainly digital.
Thanks for starting this forum!
Mike.

Sorry for the late reply.. bad timing on my part for computer problems. Marshall, at this time there isnt really an efficient way to access the site and information through emails since everything is broken into subcategories. I am very glad to see some traffic picking up and will continue to work on getting this site streamlined and get new members set up and comfortable. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions or need help with anything

Hi Richard, Ernie and everyone. My name is Robert Atkinson. Some of you will know me from GTOC. I'm an Avionics engineer by training, now working in design. I have a lot of instrument experience. I built, modified or tested all the instruments and engine electrics in Thrust SSC and was a start / turn-around team member. I'm also into embedded controllers (PIC) and have an extensive collection of test equipment. I've no turbines at present due to a lack of space but still look after a GTCP-85 air-start that I used to own. I'm also helping out on a couple of other projects. The new board is a great idea. Thanks for all the hard work setting it up.
Robert.

Hi Chris, I'm a little too far away to have much direct involvement. I'm in Cambridge, the Bloodhound team is in Bristol about 185 miles away. I am assiting with some systems stuff relating to the EJ2000 engine. There is still a lot to be done.
Robert.

Hi guys,
My name is Anders Johansson, a 28 years old Swedish guy. I have been interested in gas turbines since I drove a motorized haubits powered by a Boeing 553 during my military service.
I have built a couple of turbocharger-based gas turbines earlier and am at the moment in the process of building an engine around a TV94 compressor and shaft.
I really like the idea of this forum, I have tried to follow the text based Yahoo-forum but it is so user-unfriendly so gave it up. Hopefully it will become an active one with lots of fun threads to follow. =)

Hello johansson, welcome to the forum!! As you can see, it still early in its developmental stages, but we figure it will be a nice organized way to see what everyone is up to. Cant wait to see your project

Hello all. I Just came over from DIYGasTurbines. I have built many home built Jet engines, Free power turbines but have moved on to Bigger Jet Engines. I have 3 Microturbo TRI-60-5 Turbojet engines, 1/2 of a T-58 and am trying to round up some parts to finish a C-20 project. Any one from DIYGasTurbines mite remember me but it,s been a year or so since my last visit there. Hope to make new friends here. David Steele
