Wow, that is one nice bellmouth! If the fuel pump hangs up and the engine starts to run away you can just lean back and use the helmet as a shutoff-valve.

I can imagine. Yup, somewhere down the road I need to learn how to pressure turn sheet metal on the lathe. Btw, is it just my computer or is your text size enormous?

Pressure turning... You mean this? www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DrI5B4hui0Ive been running my medium sized lathe for over 30 years (as an Hobbyist, I must say, but with quite a bit of experience ) and this is not something I would give a try. Looks too dangerous to me. Just a little too much grab from the cutting tool and you'll break things while your work turns into a frisbee possibly aiming at you. At minimum drill center hole, then weld it shut if needed. Just my humble advice.

A friend made bellmouth intakes for his supercharged Harley 750 flathead this way so it can be done with only some youtube schooling. Sorry for kidnapping your build thread Andy, we´ll continue this in PM if there is any more to discuss.
