Hi everyone, Sorry I haven't been in lately but my laptop died and I haven't had a good replacement. Andrew asked me to put a few of the older videos up for everyone, especially for John as he hasn't even seen most of them yet. Andrew says sorry So as soon as I get my laptop back I can start putting up stuff. John, Andrew says to tell you that the new casting alloy rings like a bell and that David did exceptional additional work to make the material more homogenous. I met David and his wife Vicky when we picked up the castings and David and his family are very commited to the Jetbike program and what we are all doing to design and build new small jet stuff. Next week we start putting B1 back together for the final configuration test and the dyno run at Costa's but first we have to wait for the new fuel pump which this time is a proper Bosch 044. I was wondering also, have you guys got any questions about me because has filled me in about all of you guys and what you do.

Hi Andy, Andrew told me to look at what you have been up to in Youtube and i think your awesome! Anders too most of the guys on here have been doing pretty amazing stuff, Andrew was right, your all nuts! Ive got a new laptop now because my old one died so now i can put more stuff up. I still have to put all the aps in so I can edit the videos and put them up. But I can put up pics so here is one of me working on the 1098 ( I'm putting the screws back in the motor)

Hi Vanessa
LOL, I hope you're tightening then in the correct sequence ;-)
I guess you've seen inside the engine a fair few times , I hope she's holding together OK
Cheers John

if you get bored, come to sydney and put my turbine together I seem to keep finding more jobs to do that get in the way of making noise with the collection of large turbos I'm amassing!

Hi Yes John i was tightening them in the correct sequence as directed LOL yes, i have defiantly seen the inside of the engine a lot lately and i always make sure that it holds together well . Andrew has a chalk board where he writes how many times the motor has been in and out and so far the number is 70 times since he started B1. And to engine whisperer, i would love to help you put your turbine together, but i am needed here for a number of things. But, yeah, it would be fun to help you defiantly I am going to do some dictation for Andrew so here he is about the next video I'm putting up. Hi fellow mad buggers (thats him saying that not me) I love having Vanessa to help me with this sort of thing as I can tell her what to write while I'm doing other things in the workshop. At the moment I'm cataloging a few thousand WW2 and pre-war aircraft components so I can sell them for the cause. I put this video up mostly for John as a comparative for visual temperature assessment as even though the full power run was in the high 700s, in daylight it was almost non visible. In the night run clip, the temps were at their worst and I was trying to resolve the very high idle temps which were in the high 700s to low 800s. You can see though that apart from a couple of peak episodes where the wheel glows intensely as it transitioned to 875C, it doesn't appear to glow that intensely for the temp indicated. Although, I have had one run where the temps were in the mid 900s due mostly to a low idle that was most likely causing a kind of hung start event. You should have seen the thing glow then! You can also see that the freepower is glowing hotter in one section and not symmetrically and this was due to an air circulation problem and fueling issue that has now been resolved. Running it at night allowed me to see what was happening on the spot and identify a problem. As John also says...not a lot of people would be comfortable knowing what the turbine wheel looks like when running Vanessa will put the vid up as soon as she can today. Thanks.

haha yep, glowing parts spinning at high speeds are not very confidence inspiring! People are always amazed to see turbos and exhaust manifolds glowing on piston engines when they're on a dyno. They start to understand why putting hoses and wires near the turbine housing is a bad idea though

Hi Guys, I'm back! The trip to London was fantastic! I had a really good time over there. Now that I'm finally back home again I can now start helping Andrew again doing things as well as more on the Jetbike. Unfortunately he's not doing much on the Jetbike as the starter is still giving problems, so not much jet action. Him and Markus have to do a whole lot of eletronic magic to get the starter to give enough Rpm through the free power to start. Andrew's also started to put together my very own tool kit . Vanessa
