Perfect, a friend of mine who lives nearby has offered me a 24V ignition module so then I am all covered on the spark department. I got in touch with a surpluscenter seller an hour ago over email, so hopefully I will have placed the order by tomorrow. Happy times ahead!

Hi Anders, just as a matter of interest, how much was the shipping of that? Ian... Hi Ian, The shipping cost with USPS was 85.75USD, UPS would have cost twice as much. Cheers! /Anders

Yup, I payed for it yesterday so hopefully I will have it here in a week or two. You don´t happen to have a pdf manual for the 301 Ernie? The seller claimed to have one but now suddenly he can´t find it anywhere...

Awesome engine! What are you going to use it for: shits and giggles or as a coffee hot-plate or something?

Not really sure yet, first I want to make it a reliable runner and then we´ll see. I do have some absurd idea of building a hand built aluminum jet lakester, so the engine might come in handy some day.

Why not try and find a BIG free power turbine and have about 5000 shp in a bike or something...... Ian...

Last week I bought a box with 24 cans of turbine oil, I got it cheap since the date had expired and the helicopter company couldn´t use it any more. I also was given a 90 liter stainless tank from a guy in my home village, it will make a perfect fuel tank for the engine. Cheers! /Anders

Some progress made on the Viper: What, you didn´t see it? Ok, here is a better view: Yup, the starter is hanging in place. I have yet to make the coupling shaft but it should be pretty straightforward now that I´ve figured out how to cut splines in my mill. Cheers! /Anders
