Andy,
This thing is really looking great!!
What size O-ring are you using to seal the outer case? I'm trying to decide what diameter to use. Right now I'm using a 3mm, but I'm not sure if that will be enough to take up the movement and slop in the assembly.

Hi Monty
I use a 1/8" dia silicone O'ring for sealing my 12/118 engine's case , they tend to swell in size after a bit of use and exposure to fuel so I make sure its a a bit smaller in diameter than the case ID and has to be stretched over the cover's recess , a bit of silicone spray on the o'ring and can ID before assembly and she slides together nicely .
Cheers John

Andy,
That engine is looking great! I really like the one piece NGVs...when I get some free time, I was going to type up a post on typical welded joint design. I see a lot of partial penetration welds on here that of course crack after a few heat cycles, because they have a built-in flaw right from the start.
Since I have spec'ed out hundreds of TIG, E-beam and Laser welds in my career, I know that achieving a durable and long-lifed, full-penetration weld on hot gas path components is tough. Aerospace guys spend a lot of time and money to make sure that their welds are solid and crack free. Your NGV should give you much more reliable life.
Thanks for sharing!
Chris

Chris Thanks Chris So still busy.... on to little jobs, well not so little just little parts. It has taken most of the weekend, but here it is the fuel rail, a short test to see if all are flowing Still plenty to do, bosses for oil in and out, get rota balanced, the sort the kart chassis ..... but things are moving forward All The Best Andy
