So I'm super new to this but I ended up getting a huge turbo off some 15 l diesel is all I know about it it's a Cummins but I see you guys talking about super back wheels and talking about not over boosting them I have something a little smaller than yours mine's about 82 mm and I'm just wondering how much psi I should stay under also what oil pump should I run to supply this thing how much oil pressure stuff like that

Hi James Welcome to the Group :-) Start yourself a build thread , post a few pics of the turbo and we can go from there . If its secondhand turbo of unknown heritage then its best to be cautious about pushing the rpm and temperatures . Superback is an extension of the comp at the rear to spread out the centrifugal loads at the bore over a longer distance , ideally it needs to be at least 6% of the wheel diameter if we want to run highish pressures . Oilflow , design for 10 lpm , pressure at the turbo of >50 psi Read through this jetandturbineowners.proboards.com/thread/680/diy-turbines click on icons for info Cheers John

Industrial turbos often have cast iron housings , weight isn't an issue . Also without a superback there more of a chance the comp would fail and require containment I believe some of the HX82/83 had titanium compressor wheels. A cast iron housing is required to contain a burst.

YES barder turbo service Obviously the low pressure ratio turbos seem to have cast iron compressor housing also due to the high risk of failures...thats why holset made a update on all these turbos ,eqiupping them with superback wheels....except my turbo which got forgotten....

I got 5 of these vapourizers, they are designed to be used on the lycoming T53 helicopter engine, that engine uses 22 such vapourizers Do you guys think that they can be used for my HX82 ?

Can't see why not , you probably only need two or 3 units

The hole in the two tubes is 11mm or VERY close to that
