Hi John and patty, i have been thinking about this With oxygen as startgas,as most, atleast mechanics know is that oxygen and any oil, grease, fuel or even debries from metal flakes can cause an ignition, theese bearings that we use sometimes isnt the most tight and oil can enter compressor housing OR turbinehousing, IF you then inject oxygen you would get ignition ok in The turbine it would not be so drastic as on the compressor side....that was my concern Cheers stephan

No no,you can not use oxygen to start With,it would be extremely dangerous With a huge explosion!!

Thanks John for your help, really appreciated, i understand that this engine would be able to run With some work on it The good thing With it is that it has a single entry inlet to turbine AND that it dont have a wastegate on the turbine housing and it is a HX80... It is bigger than the HX60W.... Bigger the better!! Cheers stephan

Thanks Mate for your help,i understood that The turbine housing is a size 36 in The holset language, i think it should be fine.....i estimate expected thrust in The 50kg+ range OR is that overly optimistic? Cheers stephan

Hello my Friends here I have stumbled over a opportunity to buy a holset HX80 With a t6 single entry inlet to turbine.... But this calculations regards the ratio between comp inducer and the turbine exducer makes me puzzled, Can someone help me? Comp inducer is 89mm and the turbine exducer is 96mm,would this work as a turbojet engine? Cheers /stephan

Nice work on that engine, i always Wanted to find a holset hx 80 but i had to be happy With the HX60w that i found! Any collected data from those runs?,i mean temps, pressures, engine speed etc,tie the engine down and put a weight scale to measure Thrust,i believe that engine at that size is capable of 50kg+ in thrust Good work there! Cheers /stephan
